Furnace replacement for Pittsford, NY homes
Pittsford homes aren’t all the same. There’s older stock, additions, finished basements, and different fuel setups. A furnace that “worked fine for 20 years” can still leave half the house cold once the house has grown past what the ducts and returns can handle.
We’re Green Guys Heating, at 340 Haley Rd in Ontario, and Pittsford is in our service area. When you’re weighing repair against replacement, we look at the house before anyone opens a catalog.
Repair or replace
If the unit still has life and the next fix is reasonable, repair it. If you’re looking at a major component failure on an aging furnace, or it’s already had several hard starts on cold mornings, replacing it before mid-winter is often the cleaner way to go. Rising fuel use without better comfort is another sign, and so is noise that used to be mild and isn’t anymore.
We check heating load, duct size and return paths, fuel source (gas, oil, or propane), how the thermostat behaves, and combustion safety basics. Sizing by guesswork is how you end up with short cycling or rooms that never catch up.
Furnaces and AC are what we lead with. A heat pump or dual fuel setup comes up only when it fits the home.
